Yesterday Kanotix had a big day: KANOTIX was chosen to receive the donation for November 2005. Although the award is fairly small (and donations are therefore still very much appreciated); the honor and acknowledgement is the greater. Kanotix is thereby elected into a small group of renowned projects, like The Gimp, K3b, Debian GNU/Linux or Gnome.
The choice for KANOTIX was mainly justified by it being a young project, that by now serves as a base for other distributions, and is not only valuable for its own users but for the whole Linux Community.
DistroWatch is the most popular source on the Internet for introduction and comparison of Linux-Distributions. Every month its users nominate one project (ditribution or application), and grant it a donation from the site's commercial revenues.
