im running dual boot OS and i would like to uninstall Kanotix for a time but when i do so, it says the Grub thingie that everyone knows. i dont got the Windows XP CD, i just got the restore CD that the computer made when i first turned it on. so that if someone could help me uninstall i would appreciate the help a lot.

You can use the repair on a Kanotix LiveCD to return the mbr back to the original.Windows should then just boot up next time around.

sudo lilo -M /dev/hda -s /dev/null
make sure, mbr is on hda.
this will restore mbr for windows use.
