How do I get gdm or kdm to start automatically on booting.
By the way I switched to gdm as kdm was giving me problems not allowing any text input.

In archlinux I do it in in /etc/rc.conf how in debian?
DAEMONS=(syslogd klogd !pcmcia network netfs crond gdm)

I use sysv-rc-conf for that.
just 'apt-get install sysv-rc-conf' as root
and run 'sysv-rc-conf'
It's self-explanatory.
