I may very well be wrong, but where does this "Adept" come from? I know from the listing in kpackage it is in the KDE group, but how did it sneak in?

I have a fresh install of Easter RC4 that I am trying out as I am worried about my frozen-in-time Bughunter. I have installed Easter before on spare machines and don't remember this Adept creeping in on them. But it has been a month or two since any Easter install and KDE is always changing.

This time I used the H2 script to do the first d-u (nice script! but nothing I couldn't/wouldn't do ordinarily anyway).

Then I see this lovely (sarcasm) tray icon. Since when is KDE turning into Winblows? If I want tray apps telling me anything I will install them, no thank you. I will also give them permission to contact the outside world, thank you. I do have to admit KDE is getting to winzy. I love the eyecandy but KDE thinks it can get away with this, I will look into the lighter weight stuff that hopefully doesn't try to do its own thaing. That isn't why I am in Linux.

Anyway, to get to the point, is there any log file, etc., I could look in to see what (probably upgraded) KDE pkg brought this thing in?

I don't think it is in there in Kanotix from the start, Kano used to have a package list for his release but I don't see it (link would be appreciated!). Maybe I am just paranoid and Kano included it as helpful (my money is on KDE conspiracy, though)

Nish

It was included ut apperently will not be anymore due to popular demand (bugs)

It is not on my version of Easter rc4 I thought rc,s were frozen but even if it was Linux is about choice and individual configuration just remove what you don,t want. From this point of view KDE is not in any way comparable with windows.
