Keep the faith! Back to the Future! Dig out your BackUps of "Debian 1900"!
Using Kanotix-Dragonfire (Debian-7-Wheezy-based) as host operating system, I have solved my Internet streaming video Adobe flashplayer problem by running OpenBox-WindowManager-driven Legacy Crunchbang-Statler-Debian-6-Sqeeze-Linux (32-bit) within Oracle VirtualBox.
Lightweight Crunchbang Statler Iceweasel Browser plays ARTE-Mediathek-, YouTube-, Vimeo-, Alpenparlament.tv- Flash-Videos instantly without any additional software installation requirement.
I have installed Kanotix Dragonfire (LinuxTag, May 2013, 32-bit-Version, Debian-7-Wheezy-based) on an IBM-Thinkpad T41p. Graphics card in this machine is ATI Mobilty FireGL T2 (based on the ATI Mobilty Radeon 9600). Maximal Memory of 2GB DDR1-RAM is installed on mainboard. Got Kanotix taking less resources than KDE-version installing Xfce4 as only Window-Manager:

helpful Xfce4-plugins:
Code:
apt-cache search xfce4 plugin
Xfce4 Panel has to be installed and configurated manually
get Recycle Bin to work:
Code:
apt-get install gvfs
install Oracle VirtualBox 4.3 from Oracle-Repositories (Original is more up to date and easier to handle -especially for beginners- than Debian-Repository-Version)
