I started getting a sound server error after I dist-upgraded my 2005-04 install. After many unsuccessful attempts to remedy, I decided to install a fresh copy of the Easter RC4 edition of Kanotix. But even from the start, booting off the CD I still get the error, only worse, it will not go away after I click the box - it just comes back. On the install I was trying to fix it only appeared once and I could click past it.
The pop-up reads as follows:
Error - Artsmessage
Sound server fatal error
CPU Overload, aborting
My system is an AMD Duron 1600 on a PCChips motherboard with 512MB RAM and a 120GB harddrive with about 40GB used. |
