For some reason I have to enable my network card each time I boot. Each time I boot i have to go to Control Center---> Internet and Network----> Network Settings and enable wireless0 I then go to configure interface, select automatic dhcd, and then select the box to activate when the computer starts. I click apply, but the next time I boot up, I have to do it all over again. |

I'm a Linux novice and don't know much about this kind of thing.
But, I believe you need to use the Kanotix menus instead (that's the way I do it on my PC). My wireless card is setup using ndiswrapper though.
Logged in as root, go to Kanotix > Network/Internet > Network Card Configuration
or, it looks like you can get to it by using a console and typing this:
sudo netcardconfig
You'll see wlan0 listed. After you select it and press OK< just go through the screens until everything is set the way you want. With my card, I leave most everything at their defaults except for ESSID (my card needs it), and answer yes to Enable DHCP broadcast.
After all of your desired options have been entered, another screen will come up and ask you if you want to enable it at bootup (this one may take a minute before it actually pops up). Tell it yes and it will take you back to the original menu. Just select EXIT and you should be fine after that. |
