I had a major hardware failure today. Long story short... I am back up and running on another machine and I want to install an application that is no longer available. I have the deb and all the depencies debs on the spare drive and have copied them over to a folder on new machine. How to install?
Do I need to make this some sort of local repository or is there another way? |

try going into the folder where you put in the deb and using
#deb -i <packagename>.deb
i'm not sure about the dependencies, though |

as root,
# dpkg -i <packagename>.deb
I like to use the mc, midnight commander, to locate the file.
Press enter on the deb, and then install.
saludos,
Richard. |

I've heard that sleep is not a substitute for caffeine. |
