Hi, I did a dist-upgrade within the last week using h2's script. Oddly enough I can't print using OO.o writer but I can print from OO.o calc. When I try to print from writer it complains that default printer, which is my only one, can't be found. Calc doesn't complain and prints. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Edit: I poked around in cupsys a little, and none of the printjobs from writer even show up in the logs- not as waiting, not as having been printed. I think writer isn't talking to cupsys. Is that possible?

yes, it's possible.
See this thread for more information:

Thanks for the link, h2. You know, I saw that thread yesterday when I was searching, but it showed up with only one page. Huh. Weird. I'll poke around in there for my answer.

uncledeadley, if that solves your ooo print issue, can you post that here so other people who might have had the same problem will know the solution. Also the specific fix you used that did the job.

If other things don't work, you might try what I did for QCad, Uncledeadly.

It's in my last post in the Software forum, Cad on Kanotix thread.

Problem solved. Had to remove and reinstall cups and related packages. What is this, windows?! Details posted in another thread where another user had the same problem, better to keep them together, I figure. Link: http://kanotix.com/index.php?name=PNphp ... 889#129889
