i tried out gnome on kanotix today. i'm not yet completely comfortable with it, but i do like the fact that looks less "shiny," and more professional than KDE (IMO), especially after i ripped off openSUSE's look with the Gilouche theme and Tango icons.
i have a minor annoyance with it though. i automount my windows partitions using the ntfs-3g drivers. however, gnome sees these partitions as removeble drives. so whenever i use the shortcuts for them on the side pane of nautilus, it tries, and fails, to mount them, because they're already mounted. i could navigate to /media/hdxx instead, but it's a bit annoying when shortcuts like this don't work.
any ideas on how to fix this without having to disable automount? |
