I see the "Preview Release" is too huge for me to download. Even a Broadband connection says it will take over 8 hours.

Can someone send me a copy on CD or DVD?

Suggest the staff make it available via a DVD purchase or allow trusted vendors to send it for a small fee.

Broadband is available at different speeds but a standard 1.5mbit connection will download Kanotix (700Mb ) in around an hour. Stick 700Mb in this chart to see the time for your connection

Try

apt-get update
apt-get install axel

axel http://debian.tu-bs.de/project/kanotix/ ... 01-RC4.iso
