Now I can print only one document. The second document is waiting forever for processing. Cups is saying: "Printer not connected will retry in 60 seconds...." Kinfocenter don't show the printer any more. If I disconnect and reconnect the cable the printer comes back.

My Brother 1430 laser printer is normally connected as "DeviceURI usb://Brother/HL-1430%20series" in printers.conf.

If I change that to "DeviceURI file:/dev/usb/lp0" all is working fine but my other (windows XP) computer cannot print any more with Samba. I have reinstalled cups already and I was looking everywhere...

Solutions?

          | I have a Brother 2040 - same problem. This worked for me. Reconfigured cupsbsd as "active". This no printer business is a royal pain isn't it. I think there is a limit to how long people are going to persevere with this nonsense. |
