Im looking for a program similar to CDex for Kanotix, I have a lot of old tapes I want to record from my tape player via the "Line IN" on my sound card to convert them into ogg, or MP3 and then burn them to CD, so far I have found one that records but on the WAV format, way too big of a file, with the added hassle of having to convert the file into mp3 and then delete the wav file.
I have about 70 casettes from the 80's with music hard to find this days...he he, any idea or place to go will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, I got to play a little on settings with Audacity ( found it on Kanotix) blew me away, Im remastering all my old stuff I thought was destined to the thrift store or the dumpster, some of my tapes were a little fuzzy but got them decent sounding Everyday I get more and more happy with the switch I made a couple of years ago.
Thanks Kano!.

Loco-S,
Another program, ReZound, I used to convert ten audio cassettes into mp3 format, and get them over to CD. Lectures mostly, but, it worked. It is also easy to get through normal Debian repositories |
