Hallo Kanofans,
nach laengerer Abstinenz habe ich jetzt mal Kanotix 2007/RC6 geladen.
Probleme habe ich mit:
screen=1920x1200 depth=24 vsync=60
es geht nicht, mit 1600... gehts, aber dann halt mit den breiten schwarzen Streifen rechts u. links.
Kennt Kanotix noch e. anderen cheat fuer 1920...?
(der Momitor ist schon uralt (2,5Jahre), Dell 2405 FPW)

da haste auch wieder recht!
es ist eine HIS mit Radeon9550, steckt in e. shuttle-xpc-wuerfelchen (amd64) im agp-slot und ist am Analogeingang vom LCD angeschlossen.

Nimm die screen=auto option, wenns nicht gehen sollte könnte man den binary ati treiber mit

noch installieren, sollte aber nicht nötig sein - würde 50 mb download beim start verursachen und etwas dauern...

screen=auto geht leider nicht. Ich bin jetzt mit 640*480 unterwegs und hatte Probleme, das Menue 'Netzwerkkarte einrichten' zu erwischen, weil sich immer obere Menues davor draengten.
(ohne komm ich nicht ins net),
aber deinen Worten entnehme ich, dass es bei e. HD-install reparabel waere.
Danke fuer deinen superschnellen support Smilie

Hmm wenn das nicht geht, dann liefert der Monitor eindeutig falsche DCC Daten.

so, bin jetzt wieder mit der 1600er Aufloesung drin - seltsam nur, dass es nicht genauso mit 1920 funzt. Diese 'modes' konnte ich auch nicht mehr in den *.conf Dateien sehen.

Der Monitor ist schon Klasse, aber dessen Software ist e. Katastrophe. Beim Videoeingangumschalten (er hat fuenf Stck.) musste zwischen den Tastendruecken 1-2 s warten, sonst kriegt er das nicht mit.
Wenn z.B. Linux die Bildschirmansteuerung aendert, dann kommt erstmal eine automatische Scharfeinstellung, die viel Zeit braucht. Vllt. kommen ja die DDC Daten, aber nur eben zum falschen Zeitpunkt.
Bei den Sony-(Roehren)Monitoren hat DDC auch nicht geklappt.
Beim Knoppix 5.2 funzt btw. die 1920er, aber da sind andere Dinge suboptimal...

Also man muss die ModeLine einträge vergleichen und der Treiber, der benützt wird. Ohne diese infos bringts nix. Dazu ist die /etc/X11/xorg.conf und die /var/log/Xorg.0.log zu kontrollieren. Das hier zu erklären macht nicht viel Spass, aber ohne die Infos kommt man nicht weiter. Per ssh wärs wohl relativ schnell zu lösen.

Ich habe hier ein externes Modem (dsl-360T), das haengt an e. Router, dann kommen Switche und daran haengen PCs mit festen IPs.
Geht das dann immer noch?

Das müsste funktionieren:
1. Router auf port forwarding einstellen, d.h. dass Anfragen auf Port 22 (ssh) an den Zielrechner im LAN weitergeleitet werden.
2. Im Routermenü nachsehen, welche IP-Adresse der ISP dem Router zugewiesen hat. Diese Adresse benötigt man, um über das Internet auf deinen Rechner zugreifen zu können.
3. Auf dem Zielrechner ssh aktivieren:

su
/etc/init.d/ssh start

4. IP-Adresse und Kanotix-Benutzername/Passwort an Kano übermitteln.

Wenn die Aktion vorbei ist, musst du das port forwarding wieder abstellen, um dein LAN vor Angriffen aus dem Internet zu schützen.

Danke fuer Eure freundliche Auskunft!
Ich erinnere mich, dass es echt stressig war, den Router mit dem Modem "zu verheiraten", sprich ich hab keinen Bock dort in den Menues zu wuehlen (der router hat z.B. auch noch e. fallback auf isdn)
Also warte ich lieber auf RC7 Mit den Augen rollen

Du brauchst nur einen Portforward 22 TCP auf die INTERNE IP, das wirst scho hinkriegen.
