Hope you can help.

I'm having some issues with the Excalibur Live CD. Because I have an ATI video card, am loading the propietary driver by using update-scripts-kanotix.sh and then install-fglrx-debian.sh. The desktop that I get has text so large that many windows are un-usable. Is there something I can add to these commands to end up with a usable desktop?

I have also had problems with the software locking up while trying to use the ATI Catalyst Control Centre and while trying to access the hard drive installer.

Motherboard and CPU - Asus P7P55D, Intel i5 750
Video card - Sapphire (ATI Radeon) 5750HD
CD ROM - LG GH22

In live mode:

sudo -i
update-scripts-kanotix.sh
install-fglrx-debian.sh

Did you use it that way?

This is an issue of Debian-Lenny not Kanotix. Lenny and other lenny-based Distri had the same problem.
For a first usable look on Live-Cd:

Ctrl+alt+F1
Code:
sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop
startx -- -dpi 96

so you have "normal" text font

But anyway to fix it permanent, i.e. for HD-install, you need to install the fglrx-driver.

sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop
startx -- -dpi 96

I have tried this and what I get is an error on my monitor that says "Out of Range" but the software boots as eventually I hear the music. This "Out of Range" error is why I booted using the commands in my first message in the first place. Monitor is a ViewSonic VX922.

Best would be when you try to catch me in the IRC while you are live.
