I have this video card in my computer :
VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GT218 [GeForce 210]
and it works pretty well, but some of the games my son tries to play do not work.
They say that opengl is "temporarily unavailable" what is the proper programs/kernels that are needed to make it wok better.
thanks in advance

in most cases this should work:
Code:
su
update-scripts-kanotix.sh
DISPLAY= screen install-nvidia-debian.sh
It will be black for some time (at max 5 min with a very slow pc, usually faster). Then X should come back. If it does not work reboot. |

I'm having a problem in that the NVIDIA driver installs fine, but I'm left with a frozen KDE splash screen. I can hear KDE login, it just won't move past kanotix-starrise.
Edit: Thanks Kano for your help with this problem. |

Kano,
I had already run this procedure to get the video card to work in the first place, but I just ran it again, to no avail.
thanks

@The_Seeker
Similar to
gfx=nvidia-1*
in live mode with gfxoverlay would be using "-v3" as option to the nvidia script. That forces the older driver. But in theory the current driver should work as well. |
