Hi, I was wondering if anyone has used gphoto2 using easter-rc4 kernel 2.6.17?
How do you like the software?
I used apt-get to install gphoto2 and it seems to download the program but, when I use the run command nothing happens.
Any ideas, thanks, David. |

desmith1944,
gphoto I just know from Fedora. Do you use KDE? Try digikam, I really like that one. It's a bit more conventional than picasa, but matches it in quality.

I use both. I find GPHOTO2 to be much faster for simply downloading files from your camera onto the hard drive.
All you have to do is launch a Konsole and enter the following command: gphoto2 -P. All of your files will be downloaded from the digital camera and placed into your Home directory.
Have fun! |

I think you misunderstand what gphoto2 really is.
Code:
man gphoto2
gphoto2 - command-line gphoto2 client
So what you got is exactly what you should have expected. |

Hi, thanks to all for your time and input. I will give digikam a try. The reason I was using Picasa if because I used it in Windows and I am familiar with the program.
I still have alot to learn using Kanotix but, it seems to be the best program I have tried out of several other Linux os.
Thanks again to all for your reply, David. |
