Hello. I am writing from Guelph, Ontario Canada. I had a dual boot system with Kanotix and Windows bur finally went all kanotix just over a week ago and I love it!
Does anyone know of a Linux teach yourself typing/keyboarding program that will run on Kanotix and KDE without compromising CUPS? KTOUCH wants QT ver. 4 installed first but I am afraid this may cause unseen consequences.
Thanks everybody! |

Thank you. I have tried apt-get update and then apt-get install ktouch, but debian complains of broken packages. Perhaps i have to upgrade to KDE 3.5 first. I am now under KDE 3.4. I hesitate to upgrade KDE because I did before and, like thousands of other users, could no longer print. I ended up re-installing an older version of Kanotix (2005-2004) so i could print again!

Not much you can do in that case, you're right not to upgrade if you need printing, though you might think about making a backup of your / partition, doing the upgrade, then testing printing, trying the various fixes, and if it doesn't work easily, just restore your backup to / after reformatting root.
That is a very easy. and fast, way to do a major test of something you are afraid will break. |

Don't give up yet. Boot off the Kanotix-Easter-RC4 cd, launch Firefox and enter
Code:
klik://ktouch
This will download a small and portable .cmg file that should run on both the live platform and your hd installation. |

Thank you so much for that. It works perfectly. I didn't know KLIK could work with an HD installation. It used to just quit in the past. I guess the KLIK folks corrected that.
