| ipw3945 is still guessing in the dark for us, it differs quite a lot from other wlan drivers due to stupid regulatory domain dæmon issues and we don't have any way to test or debug it ourselves; although some things seem to be progressing slowly right now. |

i'm doing a dist-upgrade right now on the T60, so the compter's tied up right now, but how do you unload and reload the modules...
I don't speak German very well  |

OK, here is how I did it 
I installed fresh copy of 2006-easter-rc4
I installed 2.6.17.8-slh-smp-1 kernel
I went to install ipw3945-modules-2.6.17.8-slh-smp-1 from the kernel zip archive...
But it told me I needed ipw3945-ucode, ipw3945-ucode-1.13, and ipw3945d
I used my other computer, downloaded those 3 .deb's to a thumbdrive and installed them on the T60.
Then I went back and installed the ipw3945-modules-2.6.17.8-slh-smp-1 from the kernel zip archive.
When I want to run the ipw3945 daemon, I run as root, /sbin/ipw3945d
Then I run the Kanotix netcardconfig and it will connect even with WPA2 at 54.
